New Ventures

Hey, I'm Sam.
I'm the founder of Cultura, and wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to you.
I'm a 28 y/o café owner from Belfast who stumbled into specialty coffee 7 years ago - by accident.
Yeah, it was supposed to be a stop gap.
Turns out, short term gigs can be life changing, and this one certainly fits the bill. Coffee has given me a space to connect with people I now deeply care about, learn, contribute and generally become better professionally (and personally). I've embraced this nerdy little world as my vocational home, and I wouldn't change it for the world.
Outside of coffee, I'm about to become a Dad!
So, obviously, now was an amazing time to launch a coffee subscription service.
I think it's always important that we ask ourselves "why" when considering any new ventures, big life choices, or generally anything which will have a real-time impact on our day to day worlds.
The why behind Cultura is pretty simple - I want to create better home brewing experiences for as many people as possible.
Getting your hands on great coffee has never been easier. It's also never been more complicated.
You can choose from countless varietals, processing methods, origins and roasters. So how do you choose? Especially if you're not an expert and don't have previous experience with each. It becomes tricky really fast.
Tasting large quantities of coffee is part of what I do day-to-day. I want to take the tricky bit, which is actually choosing which coffees to buy each month, and send you my favourites based on what I and my team are tasting. That's it.
Of course, we all know that it's not just about the coffee. Imagine it was as simple as opening a bag and just brewing it. Wow...
Cultura will be my space to share everything I know with you. You'll receive brewing guides, tips, insights and whatever else I've got in the tank to give. The coffee world can be full of "experts" (pretenders) at times, who love to make working with coffee sound complicated to you because it strokes their ego and makes them feel important. Ignore them, if you weren't already.
While I wouldn't go as far as to say it's simple, achieving great results at home with pretty much any coffee is completely possible if you know how to get there.
I want to help you get there :)
Thanks for reading this far! I'll check in again soon.
Oh, shoot me feedback on the subs if you do sign up. I read everything and really appreciate anything you've got to share with me.
Peace!
